July was a pretty busy month. So far, it's been hot, its been cold, its been rainy, and its been sunny. Yesterday, we went to one of the German restaurants that is more popular with Americans. The plates are large, both Jeff and Darla had a Cordon Bleu, Darla brought quite a bit home. We ordered the kids french fries but they didn't eat them because the Ketchup tasted more like tomato juice than American ketchup.
Earlier this month, we went to the 4th of July fireworks located on one of the posts here in the area. Attached are a couple photo's. After the fireworks display, one of the neighbors bought some sparklers and the kids were up until probably about 1 am playing with sparklers.
Last weekend, we took a trip to Landstuhl, did some shopping for school supplies and clothes, ate at Chile's, and enjoyed the trip back. On the way back, we were pounded by a pretty good rain storm.
We're planning a trip around Jeff's birthday but we don't know where we are going to go yet. We are still going to check out the USO sponsored tours to see what is available that weekend before we decide whether to do a tour or just go somewhere on our own.
We're also going to start doing a little geocaching here in the area to see some of the local site's. There are quite a few cache's here, but everything is written in German on the website so we'll see how good we have gotten since we won't be able to translate the clue's or any other information about the cache.
Jordan has been the little angel (ha ha) that she always is. She has learned how to unlock the door, sneak out the front door instead of the back door (because Mom and Dad sit by the back door), and get to the playground without anyone knowing. She is also getting very good at riding bikes (both bicycles and tricycles), she is faster on a tricycle than Tori is on a bicycle.
Next week, we are going to be signing Tori up for Gymnastics and Ballet, this coming weekend, she also has a dress-up party to get her signed up for Girl Scouts. Tori is going to be pretty busy for the next couple months.
Darla has been busy with her gardening. She has lost over 30 lbs since we arrived and is pretty happy. She is wearing clothes she hasn't been able to wear since before she was pregnant with Tori.
Jeff starts his class the first week of August to get another commercial information technology certification.
