Burg Hohenzollern

We have started to settle in here in Germany. We have our house pretty much put together. There are just a few things that still have to be done, but otherwise we are home for the next 3 years. The girls are making friends in the neighborhood and we will start to get them into activities for this summer. Jeff has started his job. Right now he really doesn't know what he is doing..lol. Basically he is a gopher. Darla has been getting the house together and trying to meet some of the neighbors. Once we start a routine then she will start exploring the town.

Memorial Weekend we took a 2 hour trip to see Burg Hohenzollern. This is a castle south of Stuttgart located on top of a mountain. We could see the castle about a half an hour before we actually arrived at the site. We knew that it was up there, but the walk up was a killer on Jeff and Darla. The girls just ran up the steps. You would think that going down would be easy. It wasn't...lol. We got a few things for the girls in the gift shop at the bottom( 2 swords and 2 princess headdresses). We miss everyone back home, but we will keep hoping that someone will come visit...lol. Will update more often now that we are settled in.
